About Margaret de Valois

Margaret de Valois is an experienced Actuary, award winning Thought Leader, a graduate of the BBC Academy for expert TV Presenters and a practising Non Exec Director.
Her eclectic career began over 20 years ago when she joined the PwC graduate scheme to advise companies on all types of pension scheme matters. Quickly realising that communicating and marketing was what she loved, Margaret created a niche as a financial services marketing expert, editing The Actuary Magazine and winning awards for social media along the way.
Margaret is a highly regarded specialist in the financial services industry and has appeared regularly in the media discussing pensions policy and its impact on businesses as well as the general public.
Following almost 20 years in the City, Margaret moved to Cornwall in 2014, and has since carved out a niche in providing idea generation and change management for some of the most exciting businesses in the UK.
She currently chairs the Independent Pensions Committee at IMERYS and also chairs Cornwall Council’s Independent Remuneration Panel.
On a personal level, Margaret firmly believes that the key to solving the UK’s pension “crisis” is in good education, and is committed to helping scheme members and employees understand why they should save for retirement, when they should start and how they can set up a pension.
Margaret is an experienced public speaker and is keen to share her knowledge and experience at future live events.
